External Talk Points Background: Bolivar Peninsula, which was heavily impacted by Hurricane Humberto, experienced a major transmission outage Tuesday, October 23 involving nearly 6,000 customers. The outage is believed to be related to heavy winds that passed through the area Monday when a cold front came through Southeast Texas. Although assessment is still under way, it appears that the outage may be related to repairs made after Hurricane Humberto. Key Messages: There are 5 adjacent structures involved in the outage. Structures leaned over due to strong winds associated with the cold front. Line crews are expected to safely complete the restoration around 9:00 PM this evening. Customers are being notified by predictive dialer. During the next two weeks, Entergy will be inspecting the transmission line to determine whether other structures require further adjustment.
