Western Area Power Administration
Draft Upper Great Plains
Region (Western-UGP) Business Practices (BPs)
(Posted for 10 business day comment period)
(Last Update:
December 18, 2015)
The
following are the currently proposed draft
versions (posted for
the 10 business day comment period) of the
Western-UGP Business Practices (BPs):
Note
1. Western-UGP joined the Southwest Power Pool, Inc. (SPP)
as a transmission owner and transferred functional control of
all of its eligible transmission facilities to SPP on October 1,
2015. Transmission service over those UGP Regional
transmission facilities is available solely under the SPP Open
Access Transmission Tariff (SPP Tariff). Western-UGP still
operates its Western Area Power Administration, Upper Great
Plains West Balancing Authority Area (“WAUW”). Ancillary
services offered by Western-UGP as the Balancing Authority
operator for WAUW are also solely available under the SPP
Tariff. In coordination with SPP, Western-UGP will post
and solicit comments for BPs related to its WAUW, or that
otherwise might impact transmission service offered under the
SPP Tariff, according to Western's posted Process for
Creation of and Modification to Business Practices
BP. Upon posting a new or updated Effective BP to
Western-UGP's OASIS home page, Western-UGP shall also provide
the Effective BP to SPP for posting by SPP if required, as the
Transmission Provider under the SPP Tariff, on the applicable
SPP OASIS page.
